*Please note that this page is kept up-to-date and will always reflect our most current Health & Wellness Policy*

Health & Wellness Policy

The goal of our Health & Wellness Policy is to provide multiple layers of protection to our dance community so that we may reopen and stay open while reducing the risk for everyone involved. It has been developed to align with current recommendations from the CDC as well as infectious disease experts who understand the specific challenges presented by partnered social dancing during a pandemic. This policy is subject to change without notice. We understand that not everyone will be able or willing to follow this policy, but we are unable to make any exceptions at this time. We thank you for helping us get back to dancing as safely as possible.

Vaccinations

After September 1st, 2023

COVID-19 vaccines will no longer be required for entry to Dancing Fools events. COVID-19 is still a constantly evolving issue and we reserve the right to reinstate this requirement if needed.

Before September 1st, 2023

  • All participants must be up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccine per CDC guidelines, which can be accessed here. This includes receiving both the primary vaccine series and the booster dose.

  • All participants must present their physical vaccine card or an electronic health record with their date(s) of vaccination(s) and full name.

  • All participants must present a photo ID with their full name along with their proof of vaccination. The name on the photo ID and the name on the proof of vaccination must match.

  • Participants may choose to have their name recorded in a password-protected electronic document as confirmation that their proof of vaccination has been verified. At subsequent events, participants who choose to have their name recorded do not need to present proof of vaccination.

  • Regarding “natural immunity”: While the Dancing Fools may, in the future, be able to consider inviting participants who have potentially developed immunity via previous COVID-19 infection, we are not able to create a policy that presently has no precedent. At this point in time, natural immunity alone is insufficient to meet our immunity requirement.

Masks

  • Masks are welcome and encouraged (but not required) for all participants.

  • Higher-quality masks, such as KN94, KN95, and N95 masks are strongly preferred.

  • Please be sure to have a mask handy in case a partner requests that your wear a mask while you dance together.

Contact Tracing

  • Participant’s first names, last names, and email addresses will be collected as part of the registration process for contact tracing purposes.

  • If a participant tests positive for COVID-19 and they have attended a Dancing Fools event within the past 14 days, they are expected to report their first name, last name, and date of positive test to the Dancing Fools immediately.

    • This information will be used to determine who to notify about potential COVID-19 exposure and will not be shared with other participants.

    • The names and contact information of the COVID-19-positive participant and anyone who may have been exposed may be shared with local public health authorities to facilitate additional contact tracing beyond the event.

  • If a participant attends a Dancing Fools event with someone who later tests positive for COVID-19, they will be notified at the email address that they provide during registration.

Additional Precautions

  • Upon completing the registration process (verifying vaccination and payment), participants will be given a wristband that must be worn at all times while at the event. Anyone not wearing a wristband will be asked to proceed immediately to the registration desk.

  • All participants are required to electronically sign a Liability Waiver & Acknowledgement Form as part of the registration process.

  • All participants must attest that they have not tested positive for COVID-19, been in close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, or had symptoms of COVID-19 in the past ten (10) days as part of the registration process.

  • If participants have participated in higher-risk activities, it is strongly recommended that they test before coming to a Dancing Fools event.

  • Participants may be randomly selected for additional screening steps.

  • Participants are encouraged to pay online prior to arriving at the event.

  • Participants who are unable to attend due to confirmed or potential COVID-19 exposure or illness may contact The Dancing Fools to request a refund or transfer of their payment to a future date.

Anyone who violates the Health & Wellness Policy may be banned from all Dancing Fools events for a minimum of three (3) months for a first offense and may receive a permanent ban for a second offense.

Anyone who falsifies a vaccination card or otherwise knowingly misleads the Dancing Fools about their vaccination status will be permanently banned from all Dancing Fools events and reported to the appropriate authorities for falsifying a federal document.
